Well most likely Internet would be down during an outage, typically even if i had a battery for a smaller UPS to put near the Comcast Gateway Modem XB7,  don't think would be any connection anyhow lol....just want This Desktop to stay on long enough to safely shutdown is all lol

looked in the UPS software again, the setting its on now is actually default setting turns out lol

I've had power go out and continued playing video games online with Comcast. It depends on if the outage affects the signal.

Currently, I have fiber. An outage means power for the ONT so...

Yeah typically in the past everything was out in last power outage.       But yes it does depend if its just Power, and not affecting cable signal --then might be up a bit.

Might invest in a smaller ups for the Gateway modem at some point and The Downstairs TV lol, and see for sure if does stay up in the future power outage lol

No chance on Fiber Internet around here unforuately.     Only have Comcast available, Wowway Cable/Internet, or At&T DSL,

I am on cable, and use to be on comcast/xfinity - power outages never took out the cable.

My whole network stays up for like 30 minutes or so before stuff starts shutting down.. Which is normally long enough to survive most outages.

Cable modems and switches, even AP don't use all that much juice..  if you keep your networking gear up during an outage, you should still have internet..  The one ups under my desk, powers my pc, one of the 2 monitors, my modem, my router and my main 28 port switch.  Another ups powers my APs (poe) and my nas..

Unless the power outage is long, I can go about my business without any issue..

I have another ups in my av cab that powers my directv box, and switch in there and AP that runs off the switch in there, etc.  And I did put one on my TV, no so much that I want to keep it running during an outage..  But I put a sinewave ups on it, and it helped with the little blips you can see on power line which was causing my TV to just turn off for no apparent reason.  So yeah the TV will run - haven't looked to see how long it would stay up.. But if its just a short outage, doesn't even disrupt what show we are watching - be it streaming from service, or my plex on my nas, or from directv, etc.

Yeah think will invest in a not too large of another UPS soon as i can that hopefully fits near where Comcast Gateway Modem is and TV downstairs there.       Then i should be well protected lol

Ya, Years ago when I had my internet via Coax, one night we lost power for about an hour. So I plugged my router and cable modem into the UPS and used the internet on my iPad. It was great! I felt like the only one in the neighborhood with internet at that moment.
